HOW TO GET TO PLZEŇ (PILSEN)

Arrival Instructions

Alternative A: from Praha (Prague) to Plzeň (Pilsen), by bus/coach

The yellow coaches of Student Agency company (the Czech bus transport company) depart from Praha, Zličín (bus station), platform 1 at:
6:00 (work days), then from 7:00 - 21:00 on every hour.

• The price for the ticket is CZK 80.
• The connection is direct.

• Bus/Coach station at Zličín, platform 1.
• Ruzyně airport, arrival hall Terminal 1.

Alternative B: from Praha (Prague) to Plzeň (Pilsen), by train

The train departs from Praha Hlavní nádraží (Prague Main Railway Station) at:
4:16, 5:16, 6:16, 7:16, 8:16, .., 18:16, 19:16, 20:16, 22:16, 0:16 daily.

Instructions for Transfers in Prague

General Information

The tickets are sold in yellow slot machines (with English operation instructions as well) - you'll need coins, the machine doesn't accept banknotes. You can also buy tickets at a counter in tube/subway terminals or in the airport hall.

• The price for transfer ticket is CZK 20 (for unlimited number of transfers within 1 hour).

How can I get...

From:	Praha Ruzyně - International Airport
To:	Praha, Zličín (bus station)

Use public transportation - in front of the airport hall you'll see a bus stop (or a crowd of people heading for it).

1. At first buy a transfer ticket! (do not forget! - the fines are high)
2. Get on the bus no. 100 which will take you directly to Praha, Zličín (bus station) (it takes approx. 20 minutes)

From:	Praha Ruzyně - International Airport
To:	Praha Main Railway Station / Praha Florenc (Main Bus Station)

Use public transportation - in front of the airport hall you'll see a bus stop (or a crowd of people heading for it).

1. At first buy a transfer ticket! (do not forget! - the fines are high)
2. Get on the bus no.119, or 254 which will take you to Dejvická tube/subway terminal (it takes approx. 20 minutes)
3. Change to the tube/subway - Route A (green) - and go to the station called Muzeum (5^th station from Dejvická)
4. Change to Route C (red) and according to your destination
   • go one station to Hlavní nádraží (Main Railway Station) - the direction written on the front of the tube/subway train must be Ládví.
   • go two stations to Florenc (Main Bus Station) - the direction written on the front of the tube/subway train must be Ládví.

Note 1: Feel free to ask anybody. There is a high probability that you'll come across somebody who speaks English and will perhaps help you.

Note 2: We do not recommend going by taxi/cab! It takes significantly more time (because of the permanent traffic jam) and it is very very expensive - especially for foreigners.

Instructions for Plzeň

General Information

One-ride transfer tickets for public transportation are sold at all kiosks with newspapers, the whole-day tickets at almost all of them. There are several ticket dispensers in the city centre, too.

• The price for the one-ride ticket is CZK 12 (do not forget to mark it upon you get into the city transport vehicle).
• The price for the whole-day ticket is CZK 40.

How can I get to my hotel and to Congress Centre

Accommodations for the conference participants are reserved at the building of Primavera Hotel And Congress Centre (http://www.primaverahotel.cz/en/) and at Kolej Lochotín (Hall of residence at Lochotín).

From:	Centrální autobusové nádraží (CAN) - Central Bus Station
To:	Primavera hotel and Congress Centre

It is possible to get to Pilsen by bus only during day time (4am-12pm). If you arrive before 6:30pm by bus/coach from Prague, you can buy a ticket at the station and you can use a tram, instead of walking a long way. If you arrive after 6:30pm you will have to walk from mark 2 to mark 5 and buy ticket(s) at any ticket dispenser mark 13 as depicted on the orientation map #6. Then your journey to hotel Primavera follows the way by trolleybus.
With the ticket, the way from CAN to Primavera hotel has got 3 parts:

1. From CAN to tram no. 2 station
   1. At first buy at least three one-ride tickets (or the whole-day ticket) at the kiosk next to the building of CAN or at it.
   2. Enter the subway from any entrance in the middle of the bus station.
   3. Pass it as marked on the orientation map #1. You can see the tram station as you get out of the subway.
   4. Get on the tram, the direction written on the front of the tram must be Světovar. Do not forget to mark your ticket (if it is the one-ride) upon you get into the tram.
   5. Go four stations, the station to get off is called Hlavní nádraží Českých drah, Americká.
2. Moving from tram no. 2 station to trolleybus no. 13 station
   
   1. As you get off the tram, go down the subway.
   2. Keep the direction to Bory, Nová Hospoda in the subway until you get out it and reach the trolleybus no. 13 station.
   3. The situation is depicted on the orientation map #2.
3. The ride by trolleybus no. 13 and the way to Primavera hotel
   1. Get on the trolleybus, the direction on the front of the trolleybus must be Černice. Do not forget to mark your ticket (if it is the one-ride) upon you get into this.
   2. Go 11 stations, the station to get off is called Bručná.
   3. Go as depicted on the orientation map #3 until you reach the Primavera hotel.

From:	Hlavní nádraží (Main Railway Station)
To:	Primavera hotel and Congress Centre

1. The variant for a day
   1. Moving from the railway station to the trolleybus no. 13 station
      1. As you get off the train, go with the crowd of people into the railway station building.
      2. Go downstairs, pass the main hall of the building, get out of it.
      3. Now you are on the car park - go at the end of it, turn to right and reach the subway.
      4. Keep the direction to Bory, Nová Hospoda in the subway until you get out of it and reach the trolleybus no. 13 station.
      5. Along the way (in the subway) buy at least two one-ride tickets (or the whole-day ticket).
      6. The situation is depicted on the orientation map #4.
   2. The ride by trolleybus no. 13 and the way to Primavera hotel
      1. Get on the trolleybus, the direction on the front of the trolleybus must be Černice. Do not forget to mark your ticket (if it is the one-ride) upon you get into this.
      2. Go 11 stations, the station to get off is called Bručná.
      3. Go as depicted on the orientation map #3 until you reach the Primavera hotel.
2. The variant for a night (the night traffic time begins at midnight, ends at 4am)
   1. Moving from the railway station to the bus no. N2 station
      1. As you get off the train, go with the crowd of people into the railway station building.
      2. Go downstairs, pass the main hall of the building, get out of it.
      3. Now you are on the car park - go at the end of it, turn to right and reach the subway.
      4. Keep the direction to Doubravka, Božkov in the subway until you get out of it and reach the bus no. N2 station.
      5. Get the tickets from the ticket dispenser (no. 13 on the orientation map #6).
      6. The situation is depicted on the orientation map #4.
   2. The ride by a night bus no. N2 and the way to Primavera hotel
      1. Get on the bus, the direction on the front of the bus must be Černice. Do not forget to mark your ticket (if it is the one-ride) upon you get into this.
      2. Go 10 stations, the station to get off is called Bručná.
      3. Go as depicted on the orientation map #3 until you reach the Primavera hotel.

From:	Centrální autobusové nádraží (CAN) - Central Bus Station
To:	Kolej Lochotín (Hall of residence at Lochotín)

It is possible to get to Pilsen by bus only during day time (4am-12pm). If you arrive before 6:30pm by bus/coach from Prague, you can buy a ticket at the station and you can use a tram, instead of walking a long way. If you arrive after 6:30pm you will have to walk from mark 1 to mark 14 and buy ticket(s) at the ticket dispenser mark 13 as depicted on the orientation map #6. Then your journey to Kolej Lochotín follows the way by tram.
With the ticket, the way from CAN to Kolej Lochotín can be as follows:

1. From CAN to tram no. 2 station
   1. At first buy at least three one-ride tickets (or the whole-day ticket) at the kiosk next to the building of CAN or at it.
   2. Enter the subway from any entrance in the middle of the bus station.
   3. Pass it as marked on the orientation map #1. You can see the tram station as you get out of the subway.
   4. Get on the tram, the direction written on the front of the tram must be Světovar. Do not forget to mark your ticket (if it is the one-ride) upon you get into the tram.
   5. Go one station, the station to get off is called Sady Pětatřicátníků (see the orientation map #6).
   6. Change to the tram station on the opposite side of the road.
2. The ride by the tram no. 1 and the way to Kolej Lochotín
   1. Get on the tram, the direction on the front of the tram must be Bolevec. Do not forget to mark your ticket upon you get into this.
   2. Go 2/3 stations, the station to get off is called Pod Záhorskem / Lékařská fakulta, Lidická.
   3. Go as depicted on the orientation map #5 until you reach the Kolej Lochotín.

From:	Hlavní nádraží (Main Railway Station)
To:	Kolej Lochotín (Hall of residence at Lochotín)

1. The variant for a day
   1. Moving from the railway station to the tram no. 1 station
      1. As you get off the train, go with the crowd of people into the railway station building.
      2. Go downstairs, pass the main hall of the building, get out of it.
      3. Now you are on the car park - go at the end of it, turn to right and reach the subway.
      4. Keep the direction to Bolevec, Skvrňany in the subway until you get out of it and reach the tram no. 1 station.
      5. Along the way (in the subway) buy at least two one-ride tickets (or the whole-day ticket).

   2. The ride by the tram no. 1 and the way to Kolej Lochotín
      1. Get on the tram, the direction on the front of the tram must be Bolevec. Do not forget to mark your ticket (if it is the one-ride) upon you get into this.
      2. Go 4/5 stations, the station to get off is called Pod Záhorskem / Lékařská fakulta, Lidická.
      3. Go as depicted on the orientation map #5 until you reach the Kolej Lochotín.

      1. Get on the bus, the direction on the front of the bus must be Košutka. Do not forget to mark your ticket upon you get into this.
      2. Go 4 stations, the station to get off is called Lékařská fakulta, Lochotín.
      3. Go as depicted on the orientation map #5 until you reach the Kolej Lochotín.

From:	Kolej Lochotín (Hall of residence at Lochotín)
To:	Primavera hotel and Congress Centre

1. From Kolej Lochotín by the tram no. 1 to Hlavní nádraží Českých drah, Sirková (Main Railway Station, Sirková street) station
   1. Follow the way from Kolej Lochotín to the tram no. 1 station, as depicted on the orientation map #5.
   2. Get on the tram, the direction written on the front of the tram is Slovany. Mark the ticket you bought before upon you get into the tram.
   3. Go 4/5 stations, the station to get off is called Hlavní nádraží Českých drah, Sirková..
2. Moving from tram no. 2 station to trolleybus no. 13 station
   
   1. As you get off the tram, go down the subway.
   2. Keep the direction to Bory, Nová Hospoda in the subway until you get out it and reach the trolleybus no. 13 station.
   3. Along the way (in the subway) do not forget to buy the next ticket(s) for the city traffic.

3. The ride by trolleybus no. 13 and the way to Primavera hotel
   1. Get on the trolleybus, the direction on the front of the trolleybus must be Černice. Do not forget to mark your ticket (if it is the one-ride) upon you get into this.
   2. Go 11 stations, the station to get off is called Bručná.
   3. Go as depicted on the orientation map #3 until you reach the Primavera hotel.
